Barry
G. Allen
President & Chief Executive Officer
Barry has led the Foundation as President/CEO since February
1996. For the previous 25 years, he served in the Kentucky Baptist
Conventions Business Division, 19 of which as the director
and business manager. He earned a B.B.A. degree from the University
of Mississippi in 1970, a Master of Divinity from the Southern
Baptist Theological Seminary in 1973, and Cumberland College
confered upon him the Doctor of Administration Honorary degree
in 1998. As President/CEO, Barry provides the executive leadership
to the overall service ministry of the Foundation and is accountable
to the Board of Directors for the successful fulfillment of

Karen S. Martin
Office Assistant - Donor Relations
Karen began her service with the Foundation on May 24, 2006 as the Office Assistant – Donor Relations. Karen serves as one of the Foundation’s receptionists. She assists in maintaining the Foundation’s donor records and management system. She assists President Barry Allen in coordinating the joint approach speakers for annual associational meetings, correspondence with clients and with investment research. Karen also assists Barbara Spencer with meeting preparation.

Charlene Garland
Office Assistant - Client Relations
Charlene began her service with the Foundation in 1999, providing clerical support one day each week. On July 1, 2004, Charlene became the Office Assistant Client Relations. Charlene serves as one of the Foundation’s receptionists, coordinates the distribution of quarterly account statements, and maintains the Foundation’s account files and document inventory. She assists President Barry Allen in the administration of the Foundation’s scholarship program and with communication with individual constituents. Charlene also coordinates all bulk promotional and informational mailings and assists Barbara Spencer with meeting preparation and transcription of board and committee minutes. charlene.garland@kybaptist.org

Barbara
Spencer
Public Relations Assistant
Barbara began her service with the Foundation in 1994 as the public relations assistant. On July 1, 2004, she became the Administrative & Public Relations Assistant. Prior to 1994, she worked 11 years as a temporary for the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Barbara provides administrative support to President Barry Allen and Trust Counsel/COO Laurie Valentine through will and trust administration, correspondence, board and committee meeting preparation, financial and general records management and customer service. She provides public relations support to the Foundation through her creation of materials for all of the presentations and seminars conducted by Foundation staff, as well as coordination of all marketing, promotions and communications activities of the Foundation. barbara.spencer@kybaptist.org

Laurie
W. Valentine
Trust Counsel & Chief Operating Officer
Laurie is admitted to the practice of law in Florida (1982) and Kentucky (1995). She earned a B.A. from the University of Florida (1978) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida College of Law (1981). Prior to joining the Foundation staff in June 1994, she was in private practice in Florida for 12 years specializing in estate planning, probate and guardianship law. Laurie provides the Foundations Board and staff with legal counsel concerning corporate and business decisions and the administration of the Foundation's trust compliance process; charitable giving expertise to the staff of KBC-related agencies and institutions and the donors served by the Foundation; and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Foundation and the services of its third-party service providers. laurie.valentine@kybaptist.org
